Change the screen resolution with ubuntu15.04 on windows10 hyper-v machine
When you install Ubuntu 15.04 inside Hyper-V virtual machine of windows10, the integration components and virtualized drivers are also installed, including the Hyper-V video driver.
However, it is not possible to change the screen resolution inside your virtual machine.
Screen resolution on the server:

Resolution: 1152x864(4:3), can not be changed
To change the screen resolution, open a terminal and type the following commands:
- sudo vi /etc/default/grub
- Find the line starting with GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT, and add video=hyperv_fb:[the resolution you want].
So my line ends up looking like this:
- GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=”quiet splash video=hyperv_fb:1920×1080″
- Write the changes and quit vi
- Run: sudo update-grub
- Reboot the virtual machine
